The best trilogy books to read during this summer

If there’s anything better than a good book and a sunny day, then it’s three good books and the same weather. Trilogies are my favorite kind of novel series. One book is just not enough, and more than three- well none of us can wait that long for the next sequel to be released, anyway.

Below, I’ve gathered a list of my favorite trilogies for you to read this summer.

All of these series have translations in various languages, so you won’t need to get a translator if you want it in another language.

  1. The Broken Earth series

The fantasy-fiction trilogy is set in the future. Jimisin has managed to create a fictional world unlike any other I’ve read. The future world is struck by huge disasters that alter the shape of the earth and its inhabitants.

The book is a fantastic blend of fantasy, science-fiction, and geology, which creates a magical setup for the placement of characters. Jimisin uses a variety of characters and tells the story from different perspectives, but the centrifuge is all about society; who holds power, who gets oppressed, human flaws and how broken our society is.

This series by writer N.K Jimisin started with her 2015 novel The Fifth Season, followed by the sequel The Obelisk gate in 2016, followed by the last book The Stone Sky in 2017. Two of her books won The Hugo Award for Best Book of the Year.

  1. Fitz and the Fool series

This trilogy, written by American writer Robin Hobb, will take you back to the Medieval English times. The story is about a man Fitz who grew up in the castle and was used for his magical powers. After faking his death, he escaped and ran away to a small town where he married and lived peacefully with his wife and children for ten years. However, the disappearance of his friend the Fool, leads him out on a quest of danger, to find his friend and save his family and everything he loves from destruction

  1. The Infernal Devices

If you haven’t already read this worldwide hit, you must do so this summer! By far my favorite trilogy yet, the story is set in Victorian-era England. The story revolves around a girl Tessa an orphaned English girl, who discovers that she has magical powers, she can shift-shape, and this plunges her into the magical world of shadowhunters, who protect this world from evil magical creatures.

The story is a perfect weave of love, betrayal, loss, hope, and belief in a better future. Clare has created a wonderful mix of characters, and how their personalities shape their lives.

If you’re a foreign language speaker, then you needn’t worry about translation. Clare’s books have been translated into over 35 languages! There are the Italian, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Bulgarian, Turkish, Japanese and many more translation versions. Foreign publishers have their translation agencies with their translators. So you can pick up any version you please!
